Advocacy and Practice Resources

E-mail Print

AAPA sent a letter to U.S. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi stating the Academy’s priorities in reconciling the difference between the House and Senate passed health care reform bills. You can read it here.

Federal Advocacy

AAPA speaks for the PA profession in Washington, D.C. A legislative agenda describes the issues related to health care quality and access, health care reform, patient safety and other topics of concern to the PA profession. AAPA members may participate in the Congressional Visit Program, which brings practicing PAs and PA students to the nation’s capital for appointments on Capitol Hill with their senators and representatives. Another opportunity to communicate with Congress is offered through Adventures in Lobbying, a biennial gathering of PAs and students with one day devoted to visits with members of Congress and congressional staff.
