Grassroots Advocacy and Information Network

AAPA is launching a new program to increase its political effectiveness in Washington, the Grassroots Advocacy and Information Network - GAIN.  PAs CAN make a difference in key health care policy.

What is GAIN?

AAPA GAIN: Grassroots Advocacy and Information Network is a nationwide network of PAs who want to help patients and the profession by building relationships with Members of Congress and staff.

What's in it for me?

Become part of the network today and get:

  • Insider advocacy news on health care reform
  • Tips and tools for building strong relationships with legislators
  • Exclusive tools for spreading the word on PA priority issues
  • Calls to action on federal legislation that affects the PA profession

AAPA will provide all the resources you need to help advocate successfully for patients and for the profession.

Why join GAIN?

  • PAs have key insight to the problems facing health care delivery in America, especially in rural, frontier, border, and urban underserved communities and populations.
  • PAs are energetic, passionate, and have unique and powerful stories to tell about patients and communities.
  • PAs have limited time and resources to invest in advocacy - they need to be confident that their action is necessary and making an impact.
  • Members of Congress look to PAs to provide them with cues, perspective, and information on health care decisions affecting their communities.

PAs must contact Congress on key health care issues - or else Congress will make critical decisions without PA input.

Who can join GAIN?

All PAs are encouraged to join GAIN - advocacy is for everyone. Are you an AAPA or state chapter leader or volunteer? Or have you participated in AAPA's Adventures in Lobbying or Congressional Visit Program? Or are you a PA with an existing relationship with your Member of Congress or are willing to build one? If you're interested in shaping the future of the profession, then GAIN is for you!

Worried about the time commitment?

Don't be. We recognize that your time is valuable, and we won't "cry wolf" or cause "advocacy fatigue". We will give you the tools to make advocacy quick and easy.
