Each year, the AAPA Board of Directors allocates funds for a state government assistance grant program that assists state chapters that have everything in place to pursue an important legislative or regulatory change, but lack the resources to carry out their plan. In order to receive a state government assistance grant, a chapter must meet the following four criteria:
- The chapter must be pursuing a meritorious state government project that is consistent with AAPA policies and priorities
- The chapter must have a financial need
- The chapter must be willing to raise as much of the money as possible on its own
- The chapter must be willing to work closely with Academy staff
