Leadership
Student
academy leadership consists of the Student Board of Directors (SBOD),
the appointed positions, and the graduate advisors.
The
SBOD contains nine student positions. Each year, students vote for their
new SBOD during the Assembly of Representatives (AOR) held at AAPA's
annual conference. Seven positions are elected annually, president,
vice president, chief delegate, director of diversity, director of internal
affairs, director of external affairs junior, and the special projects
coordinator. The president from the previous year returns as the immediate
past president and the director of external affairs junior becomes the
director of external affairs senior for the upcoming year.
In
addition to the nine elected positions, there are eight other leadership
positions. These positions are the following: the five regional chairs,
Physician Assistants Education Association (PAEA) student member at
large, Physician Assistants Foundation marketing and communications
committee student representative, and the Physician Assistants Foundation
resource development committee student representative.
Student
leadership is advised by an AAPA graduate advisor, PAEA graduate advisor,
and the AAPA staff advisors.
