Project
in a Box
The
PIB Concept
A
project in a box is a sustainable project that may be packaged, passed
on, and promoted by other PAs, PA students and student societies. The
student society may submit projects that they used from other societies
or projects that are local to their society and area.
We
know how hard it is for a local chapter to start organizing its own
events, especially if it is a new chapter or if leaders don't have many
helpers. To help out, SAAAPA has assembled a variety of projects that
are packaged and ready to go! These events are modeled after successful
events from experienced student societies at local chapters! "Projects-in-a-Box"
can be packaged with instructions on how to run the event, a power
point presentation to help facilitate discussion and handouts to complement
the event. All these projects need is a local leader or active member
to download the project & bring it to your PA program.
Find
the "Project-in-a-Box" that fits your needs and that covers a topic
that will interest your peers and organize it!
How
To Create A PIB
Any
student society can create a project in a box. All they have to do is
complete 3 simple tasks:
- Think of a project their
student society has done in their community.
- Write an outline of how
the project was thought of, and carried out; include a timeline, contact
numbers and helpful hints that could help another student society
carry out the same project, correcting any 'snags' you ran into at
your program. Include (where appropriate) a power point presentation,
handouts and other things you used when planning your event.
- If you are going to mail
the information, submit this outline with the project
in a box submission form to SAAAPA at: 950 N. Washington St.,
Alexandria, VA 22314.

that the PA Foundation offers grants which student societies can apply
for to receive assistance with the funding of their project. You
