GLBT health is a topic I have a personal interest in. The sad fact is that there are several health disparities within the GLBT community, however most do not have much experience with GLBT patients. Thank you to Missy Novak, she has provided a concise PowerPoint presentation on terms, ethical issues, barriers to health, and how to promote a GLBT friendly environment. Click here to access the PowerPoint.
If you have any further questions on GLBT issues, please contact the GLBT PA caucus at http://lbgtpa.org/.
Also please feel free to visit the Gay & Lesbian Medical Association at www.glma.org for more GLBT information and resources.
Respectfully yours,
(P.S. Be sure to visit the Student Academy Facebook fan page, where I am always posting my monthly topics for discussion!)
