Why You Should Participate
The 5KFun Walk/Run takes place during AAPA's 2010 Annual Conference in Atlanta. Teams are asked to raised $1,000 (or $100 for each runner). The donations from this event will fund the PA Foundation's programs such as the Annual Scholarship fund - which provides scholarship money to active PA students; Community Based grants - which help student societies hold interactive, beneficial events and activities within their communities; and International humanitarian grants - which help support the advancement of health care around the world.
What You Can Do!
To reach our ultimate goal of $50,000, the Foundation is asking that each runner raise at least $100. So how can you meet this amount? It's probably more simple than you thought! One great way is to find ten different friends and family members who will sponsor you for at least $10 and you will achieve this goal easily. Other great ideas may be to raise money through a competition with other students, alumni of your PA program, or a friendly competition among other PA programs in your state or region. AAPA has an online form that can be completed for all of your donations and will accept checks or online payments through the Web site.
Important! Remember to register ahead for the 5K Fun Walk/Run as the event fills up quickly and there are a limited number of spots for participants!
