Who
is eligible to compete on a team?
Only
AAPA student members currently enrolled in an accredited PA program
which has a registered student society are eligible to participate.
What
are the requirements for a team to be eligible to participate?
Only
registered student society teams will be eligible to compete. As of
June 10, 2008, in order to participate in the National Medical Challenge
Bowl each PA program will be required to have at least 50% AAPA student
membership of the current PA student enrollment in that PA program.
This requirement will increase by 5% each year for the next five years.
In order to participate in the National Medical Challenge Bowl, a PA
program is required to have an AOR Representative or AOR Alternate in
the AOR for three out of four sessions, with the fourth or voting session
required as one of the three. In addition, a PA program is required
to have an HOD representative present and available to participate in
the HOD. Present and available is defined as those delegates that are
seated for a reference committee of session in the House. The above
defined Delegates will be required to stay for the duration of the House
events related to that committee or session.
What
must be done to have a registered student society?
PA
programs eligible to participate in the challenge bowl must have successfully
completed the student society registration process and submitted a completed
AOR/HOD/SDCR designation form and student society bylaws before the
team registration will be processed. All submitted student society officers

do I know if my PA programs has a registered student society?
Check
the SAAAPA Web site to see if your PA programs student society is registered.

How
do I register a team?
Registration
opens on March 16 at noon Eastern Standard Time and is open to the first
48 teams (one per PA program). Registration for the challenge bowl is
done on a first come, first served basis. Team registration must
be completed on-line using the link from the SAAAPA
Web site ( http://saaapa.aapa.org/students/challengebowl.htm).
What
is the cost of registration for the National Medical Challenge Bowl?
There
is no entrance fee, but participants must be registered attendees of
the annual conference and be able to show their conference name badge
when they register with their team.
When
will I know if my team has been accepted?
All
teams will be notified of their acceptance status after April 15, or
as soon as all available slots are filled.
